Which information does ETTIN provide access to?
Within its first level ETTIN offers information such as: Restrictions over the main roads, meteorological information which affects the traffic, road works information and level of service. Additional information could be offered depending of the service provider of the country selected.

Does ETTIN provide traffic information in all languages?
ETTIN will provide services in English and in the local language for the demonstrator. For future services the aim is to provide as many languages as possible

Is ETTIN accesible for a cell-phone?
Yes, you can call ETTIN with your cell-phone

Can ETTIN provie access to personalised information?
It is foreseen that the ETTIN service will allow to define ‘profiles’ according to each user’s need. With this feature the user will save time when dialling ETTIN since once the personal profile is accessed, the most of the steps to get the desired information will be skip.

What is the coverage of ETTIN?
ETTIN is a European service therefore the user will find information about the main roads in Europe (which is called TERN – Trans European Road Network). The coverage can be wider depending of the service provider of the country selected.

Does ETTIN provide non-automated services, with a call centre?
Initially it is not possible. This issue is a special feature to be added by each country since it requires people with knowledge in several languages. However the information services accessed can provide information via a call centre

Is the ETTIN service related to the ‘112’ emergency service?
The emergency service ‘112’ is not related to the ETTIN. ETTIN reports to the user about traffic and traveller information only.

Is ETTIN a free (non-cost) service?
ETTIN is not a free non-cost service. The cost is fixed according the European rules in the use of such kind of numbers.

What is the benefit of ETTIN for road-users? Why are local information numbers not sufficient?
Many road users are unaware of the exact numbers to dial for trafic and traveller information services, let a along in a foreign country. A European common number solves the problem to remember to which phone number could be dialled in each country to get the desired information. On top of that ETTIN provides a common menu and information no matter the country you are in, so it is very easy to get familiar with the ETTIN service.
